Life is an adventure. You never know where God is going to lead you. I was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. After teaching for 24 years at Hope Lutheran School in Seattle, God moved my family in 2013, to Southern California, home of my college alma mater, Christ College Irvine.
I graduated with my liberal arts degree in 1988 and obtained my teaching certificate in 1989 from Christ College. In 1994 I earned my Masters in Education from Seattle Pacific University in Curriculum and Instruction.
While at Hope I taught 3rd grade, preschool 3, K-5 music, middle school choir, and grade 5. I also directed school music concerts, musicals, GLEE club, and coached girl’s basketball.
My husband, Rev. Bil Hood, is the Sr. Director of External Relations at Concordia Irvine. We have two children, a daughter-in-law, and 2 sweet grandchildren. Matthew is a high school history teacher in Seattle, Washington, his wife Abby is a nurse practitioner, and our daughter Samantha works as an Instructional Facilitator in Laguna Nigel while pursuing her Masters of Science in School Counseling.
