Classroom Music

Music is an important part of life at St. Paul's Lutheran School. Students in TK–5 are uniquely blessed to participate in two music classes each week—a classroom music class and a grade-level choir time.  Under the direction of Mrs. Kim Hood, students develop musical skills, grow in confidence, and use their God-given talents to glorify God through music.

Classroom Music

During weekly classroom music instruction, students build a strong musical foundation through engaging, age-appropriate lessons that include:

  • Music literacy and basic theory
  • Rhythm, melody, and vocal performance
  • Music appreciation and listening
  • Instrument exploration
  • Creative movement and musical expression

Grade-Level Choir

Each grade also participates in a weekly choir rehearsal where students prepare music for chapel, school concerts, special events, and worship services.  Choir provides opportunities to develop vocal skills, perform with confidence, and worship through music.

Celebrating Music

Throughout the year, students have opportunities to share their musical talents through our annual Advent Worship Service, grade-level performances, and special choir presentations that enrich our school and church community.

Mrs. Hood brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and passion for music education. Through engaging instruction and joyful encouragement, she inspires students to develop their musical abilities while fostering a lifelong appreciation for music and worship.
