Summer Activities that involve Math
Measure the distance you travel on a trip, hike, walk, or activity. See how many miles, feet, or inches you travel. (challenge: see how many kilometers, meters, or centimeters!) Have a competition with your parents to see how fast you can do multiplication /division flash cards. (Winner gets to have an award) Cook your favorite recipes or create one. Keep track of the weather and temperature.

Things to do in your area-getting out and about
Visit your local library to see what reading program they have for the summer. Read the newspaper and look for free and new things to see in our community. Go on a hike in one of the many hiking trails around Orange County. Visit the zoo or aquarium and learn about new animals.
